After they stop smoking or vaping most of my clients are afraid of unexpected situations arising that produce anxiety such as, the anxiety of trying something new, or an unexpected event or deadline. In fact, as many of my past clients worked in the entertainment industry where there are many daily deadlines to meet. So, of this approach was going to work for them, they would need to be able to function without giving into their urges. But not one of my clients blew it over a deadline.
Of course, you won’t know this unless and until you meet the pressures of your unique life on life’s terms. But I am not going to reinforce the notion that your urges to smoke are bigger than you because that is not true. The urges to smoke only overpower you when you give them that power by resisting them. The fact that you will want to smoke is not the problem. The problem is that you are desperately trying to get rid of them, fighting them, running from the inevitable. You can’t get to freedom by blocking out the avenue to it. The only way out is through!
My talent is to teach. Let me teach you how. It’s not rocket science, but it just may be one of the most important lessons you can learn in your life.
Hey, if I can do it, so can you!
PS: I love this image of nuns smoking! It let’s us all know that nicotine is no respecter of persons. It is an equal opportunity destroyer...
